What makes a useful pitch
A pitch should name the proposed argument or reporting question, explain why it matters now, identify likely sources and show why the writer is equipped to handle it. Completed unsolicited drafts may not be reviewed. Generic list ideas, copied work and mass-produced submissions are poor fits.
Submissions must be original and must not infringe copyright, hide sponsorship, fabricate experience or use AI-generated quotations and sources. Any tool assistance should comply with the assignment and editor’s instructions.
Editing and publication
Acceptance of a pitch is not acceptance of the final draft. Work may be fact checked, structurally edited, copy edited or returned for revision. Payment, rights, deadline, expenses and disclosure expectations should be agreed in writing before commissioned work begins.
